Another reason Polish is awesome
The other day I picked up a Polish-English dictionary because I got tired of asking my mum, "Translate this into English," or, "Translate that into Polish," to which she usually responded, "I don't know how to do that." I've been reading words to her on and off throughout the evening: words I like, words I haven't heard before, words that the dictionary claims are adjectives and she claims are nouns. In doing so, I found the best word in the world.
- Poniedziałekowy
- adj. Monday-esque or Monday-like.
So you can say, "Yeah, I heard about the foot-removal surgery; how's that working for you?", and the person can reply, "Eh. Sucks like Monday. Poniedziałekowy." Which is pretty damn slick, if you ask me.
Also, I like the word "bób", which is fun to say, and which means bum. I have started to call that Sam just to fuck with him.
